Qualifications

• Must have an active CNA license.
• Degree or certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or NCCAP-certified activity director.
• Two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, with one year in a resident activities program in a healthcare setting.
• Prior completion of a state-approved training course.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and implement activities to meet residents' social, emotional, physical, and therapeutic needs.
• Initiate and promote activities inside and outside the facility, ensuring resident safety.
• Coordinate and verify assistance for activities and events as needed.
• Involve the community (clubs, groups, organizations, churches) when planning activities.
• Maintain records of activity programs and resident progress toward care plan goals.
• Develop and distribute a monthly calendar of events.
