Job summary

Stonecreek Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Director to energize residents' daily experiences through diverse social, recreational, and therapeutic activities. You’ll lead program development and coordinate events that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being in a team-focused environment.

The role requires CNA licensure and experience in activity programming, with supervisory responsibilities and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Must have an active CNA license.
• Degree and certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist; or Certified Activity Director by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals; or two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, with one year in a healthcare resident activities program; or prior completion of a state-approved training course.
• One to two years of management/supervisory experience.
• Ability to work with individuals who have cognitive, physical or sensory disabilities.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for activity programs in long-term care facilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with high productivity.
• Strong energy and enthusiastic interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and implement activities addressing residents' social, emotional, physical, and therapeutic needs within budget and care plans.
• Initiate and promote activities inside and outside the facility, weather permitting, while ensuring resident safety.
• Coordinate and verify assistance for residents during activities and events.
• Engage community clubs, groups, organizations, churches, and individuals in planning activities.
• Maintain detailed records of programs and resident progress toward care goals.
• Develop and distribute a monthly events calendar.
• Train volunteers and students in recreational therapy techniques.
• Assist residents in organizing a Resident Council.
• Maintain all records per regulations (activity assessments, progress notes, discharge summaries).
