Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Resident Engineer to lead and supervise activities on a multi-year, over $1B water transmission system program in the Chicagoland area. You will monitor costs, schedule, and quality to ensure contractual conformance.

You will coordinate with design teams, manage field offices and staff, and ensure safety, quality, and timely project delivery across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years on multi-discipline construction projects, with staff management experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as support to Lead Resident Engineer and fill in when unavailable.
• Manage day-to-day construction management activities including payments, change orders, reports.
• Ensure work complies with contract documents, specs, codes and safety standards.
• Lead weekly construction coordination meetings and site visits.
• Coordinate with design staff for RFIs and submittals responses.
• Monitor contractor performance and schedule compliance.
• Oversee field office staff and sub-consultants, including timesheets and development plans.
• Resolve non-conformances and manage close-out of contracts.
