Job summary

SI Engineering, P.C. in New York is seeking a detailed-oriented Resident Engineer for a NYCDDC project in the Bronx. The role focuses on construction administration, coordinating meetings, managing inspectors and office engineers, and ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and safety standards.

Qualified candidates have 15+ years of REI/CI experience on infrastructure projects, NYS PE license, and a bachelor’s in engineering. OSHA 30 and public agency experience are preferred.

• Experience working with public agencies is preferred
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Provide overall construction administration of contract
• Lead and conduct progress meetings and safety meetings
• Manage direct reports including Inspectors and Office Engineer
• Ensure contractor’s work meets plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards
• Review contractor performance and compliance with safety requirements
• Prepare/review correspondence and maintain project records; prepare change orders and progress reports
• Monitor schedule, cost, and quality
• Serve as a technical resource in field and office
• Assist Office Engineer as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

Qualification & Skills

• 15+ years of REI/CI experience on infrastructure projects
• 5+ years of experience working on NYCDDC projects preferred
• New York State Professional Engineer License Required
• Bachelor’s in Engineering Required
• OSHA 30
• Experience working with public agencies required
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, work respectfully with multi-disciplinary teams and maintain composure under deadlines.

Expected salary range is $176,800 - $197,600 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent on the individual’s qualifications, skills, experience, and physical work location.
