Job summary

Psomas is seeking a Resident Engineer/Construction Manager to lead field activities on public works infrastructure projects in Northern California. You will act as the owner's representative, coordinating with clients, contractors, design teams, inspectors, and utilities to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

This role requires regular site presence and travel between Chico, the Northern Sacramento Valley, and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Active California PE license; CCM or EIT considered.
• Experience supporting CM, resident engineering, or owner's representative for public works or heavy civil projects.
• Knowledge of construction administration, contract documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims, schedules, and project controls.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and CM software.
• Ability to travel between sites and offices.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day field activities, contract administration, project documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
• Provide pre-construction reviews, bid-ability/constructability, and bidding services.
• Monitor field activities for compliance with plans, specs, budget, schedule, safety, and quality.
• Coordinate with clients, owners, contractors, design teams, inspectors, utilities, and agencies.
• Lead project meetings and resolve field issues, change orders, and schedule impacts.
• Guide field teams, inspectors, and subconsultants to ensure accurate documentation and delivery.
