Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks resident engineers for our Shelton, CT office. Responsibilities include supervising professional staff and managing day-to-day construction management and administrative/financial matters for assigned projects.

GPI is a multi-discipline engineering firm with over 50 years of experience in transportation infrastructure. We require a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, 15+ years in transportation construction, and a licensed Professional

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in multi-discipline transportation construction projects with emphasis on bridges.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer is required.
  • Moveable bridge experience is a plus.
  • Project experience in excess of $30 million is preferred.
  • Knowledge in using Microsoft Office, Primavera, SiteManager, SharePoint and/or other contract management software.

Responsibilities

  • Verify that construction is performed per contract documents, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Manage inspection services to achieve on-time and on-budget completion.
  • Review and ensure daily narratives, daily labor, and time and material reports are completed accurately and timely.
  • Coordination of construction work with facility operations, maintenance, other contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Review contract drawings for constructability, staging, and logistics.

  • 15+ years of experience in multi-discipline transportation construction projects for CTDOT is required with an emphasis on bridge rehabilitation and reconstruction
  • A licensed Professional Engineer is required
  • Moveable bridge experience is a plus
  • Project experience in excess of $30 million is preferred
  • Knowledge in using Microsoft Office, Primavera, SiteManager, SharePoint and/or other contract management software
Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
  • Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
