Job summary

Parkway Health & Rehabilitation Center in Boston, MA seeks an Activity Leader to create engaging social opportunities for residents and foster meaningful daily experiences. You will partner with the Director of Activities and an interdisciplinary team to tailor programs to individual interests and needs.

Responsibilities include planning events, encouraging participation, building relationships, and maintaining activity records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent.
• Valid New York Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
• Ability to develop good relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors.
• Ability to inspire and motivate others and adapt activities for residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Activities in planning and carrying out a diverse activity program.
• Encourage resident participation and identify interests on assigned units.
• Build relationships with residents and learn their preferences and needs.
• Document observations and contribute to care planning records.
• Support planning of special events, outings, and community activities.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and prepare departmental reports.
• Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, social services, and other departments.
