Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Dining Services Associate to assist the Dining Services Director in creating and executing our signature dining program for residents. You will deliver friendly, responsive service to ensure an exceptional dining experience while upholding the company core values.

You will prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain a safe kitchen, and support a positive dining environment for residents, with shifts that may vary and include weekends.

Qualifications

• Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk short distances throughout the day. Ability to tolerate heat from the kitchen.
• Must be free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Be familiar with HACCP and WHMIS when handling food.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and practice safe hand washing.
• Serve meals in a pleasant, respectful manner, mindful of residents' needs.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment; follow cleaning schedules.
• Prepare dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear dishes.
• Receive stock and store it according to procedures.
• Follow cleaning procedures when equipment is unavailable.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director.
