Job summary

Midwest Health, Inc. seeks a Dietary Supervisor to ensure meals meet dietician-approved menus and state and federal regulations.

The role requires planning menus with dietitians, coordinating with residents’ input, and supervising cooks and dietary aides while maintaining records and schedules. You will participate in care planning, monitor budgets, and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards in a dynamic resident care environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to cook for an average of 30+ residents at a time.
• Plans menus in consultation with a dietician and residents' input.
• Supervises cooks and dietary aides; may serve meals; keeps schedules.
• Participates in assessing and maintaining residents’ dietary needs.
• Follows Federal and State regulations in meal preparation.

Responsibilities

• Comply with the Community's personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
• Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Executive Director.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Ensure meals are prepared according to menus and physician orders; meals are presentable and served to residents.
• Ensure necessary food, supplies, and equipment are available for dietary staff.
• Maintain kitchen equipment, cleanliness, and working order.
• Implement and maintain a weekly cleaning schedule.
• Maintain infection control procedures in food preparation and storage.
• Manage budgets with approval from Executive Director; monitor expenditures.
• Oversee dietary department staff and participate in care plan meetings.
• Monitor residents' rights and compliance with regulations.
• Relate to and support ill or elderly residents and staff as needed.
• Meet physical requirements including lifting and mobility as described in policy.
