Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Dining Services Associate at our Bon Air community. The successful candidate will assist the Dining Services Director in creating and executing a signature dining program, delivering friendly, responsive service to residents.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals, maintaining HACCP/WHMIS standards, keeping a clean kitchen, and supporting a respectful dining environment for residents with varied shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe sanitary manner in accordance with Public Health Regulations, and in compliance with Sanitation Code.
• Be familiar with HACCP and WHMIS.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and practice safe work habits.
• Serve attractive, nutritious meals in a pleasant, respectful manner, mindful of residents' needs.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment as required and follow cleaning schedules.
• Prepare dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear and clean dishes.
• Receive stock and store it according to procedures.
• Follow cleaning procedures when equipment is unavailable.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director.
