Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Danville, VA is seeking a Dining Services Associate to assist the Dining Services Director in creating and delivering a signature dining program for residents. You will provide friendly, responsive service, help prepare and serve nutritious meals, and ensure a clean, safe kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk short distances; tolerate kitchen heat.
• Must be free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Maintain HACCP and WHMIS familiarity.
• Ensure a clean, safe working environment and proper handwashing.
• Serve meals in a pleasant, respectful manner, mindful of residents' needs.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain equipment per schedules.
• Set dining rooms, pour beverages, and clear dishes daily.
• Receive stock and store properly.
• Follow procedures during power outages or equipment unavailability.
• Support Dining Services Director as directed.
