Qualifications

• Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk short distances; tolerate heat from kitchen.
• Must be free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe sanitary manner per Public Health Regulations and Sanitation Code.
• Be familiar with HACCP and WHMIS.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and practice safe work habits; use proper hand washing.
• Serve attractive, nutritious meals in a pleasant, respectful manner, mindful of residents' needs.
• Practice safe usage of equipment and clean/sanitize equipment per schedules.
• Prepare dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear and clean dishes.
• Store received stock following procedures.
• Follow cleaning procedures when equipment is not available.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director.
• Other duties as assigned.
