Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living at Bon Air is seeking a Dining Services Associate to assist the Dining Services Director in delivering a signature dining program for residents. You will provide friendly, responsive service to ensure a memorable dining experience.

The role requires HACCP/WHMIS awareness, ability to read and write English, physical stamina for kitchen tasks, and flexibility to work varied shifts and weekends at 1000 Twinridge Ln, Bon Air, VA.

Qualifications

• Certification in Food Handlers Course or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Willingness to learn new tasks.
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk; tolerate kitchen heat.
• Must be free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe, sanitary manner per health regulations.
• Be familiar with HACCP and WHMIS concepts.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and proper handwashing.
• Serve meals in a pleasant, respectful manner considering residents' needs.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment; follow cleaning schedules.
• Prepare dining rooms daily (set tables, pour beverages, clear dishes).
• Receive stock and store properly following procedures.
• Follow cleaning procedures when equipment is unavailable; assist as needed.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director.
