Qualifications

• Experience in dining services with food preparation and serving.
• Serv-Safe certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
• Ability to read, write and perform simple calculations.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions accurately.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Ability to stand long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present menu items according to standard recipes.
• Maintain a clean, orderly kitchen and assist with weekly cleaning duties.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of the Dining Services Director.
• Report faulty equipment and ensure proper storage and dating of food.
• Record temperatures and monitor fridge/freezer temps twice daily.
• Provide menu substitutions with Director approval as needed.
• Train new dietary employees and conduct in-services.
• Attend required staff meetings and ensure kitchen is ready for service.
• Work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ensure safety practices and minimize food waste through portion control.
