Job summary

Masonicare at Middlewoods of Newington in Newington, CT is seeking a Cook for DAY/EVENING shifts. This part-time position (16 hrs/week) prepares food for residents, staff and events, ensuring quality, presentation, and proper sanitation.

Responsibilities include following schedules, maintaining cleanliness, food safety, assisting with inventory, and interacting professionally with residents and staff. Prior kitchen experience preferred; high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of Culinary program recommended.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in the kitchen
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Sanitation certification preferred.
• Key Competencies: Knowledge of food sanitation requirements and regulations. Knowledge of culinary terms and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain adherence to posted schedule and report to work on time.
• Maintain proper time-clock procedures for hours worked.
• Report to work in proper uniform.
• Adhere to safe food handling, HACCP, and sanitation guidelines.
• Provide courteous customer service to residents, staff and visitors.
• Prepare food for residents, staff and catered events meeting quality standards.
