Job summary

Lantern Community Services in Brooklyn/Manhattan seeks an Adult Development Specialist to deliver person-centered support and resources to residents, guiding their educational and professional goals and long-term stability.

You will collaborate with Case Managers and Housing Specialists to provide coaching, workshops, and community engagement, helping tenants overcome barriers and build skills for employment, housing stability, and independent living.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in social services, adult education, career development, or supportive housing.
• Experience facilitating workshops, individual sessions, and group settings.
• Ability to motivate clients to develop life skills and goals.
• Strong writing, organization, and supervision-friendly multitasking abilities.
• Knowledge of accommodations for people with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Engage tenants with individualized support and coaching to advance entitlements, financial stability, mental wellness, and employment goals.
• Develop and facilitate workshops and group coaching on life skills, ADLs, and financial literacy.
• Collaborate with Resident Learning leadership and colleagues to secure site-based services from external partners.
• Maintain accurate records and progress notes in Lantern's EHR and align goals with site plans.
• Support community engagement, volunteering, and job placement opportunities for residents.
