Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must read recipes and adjust ingredients for different serving sizes.
• Must cook a variety of foods in large quantities.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspects special diet trays to assure correct diet is served to residents.
• Performs administrative requirements and submits reports to management.
• Coordinates meal service with other departments as necessary.
• Works with the facility’s culinary director and implements changes as required.
• Ensures dietary procedures follow established policies.
• Maintains and files menus according to policies.
• Assists in establishing food service production lines to ensure meals are prepared on time.
• Processes diet changes and new diets from nursing and dietary staff.
• Takes pride in the preparation and presentation of residents’ meals.
• Other duties as assigned.
