Job summary

HarborChase of Naperville is seeking an experienced cook to assist with menu preparation, inventory control, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. You will prepare food in an appetizing, appealing manner that meets residents’ dietary needs.

Responsibilities include managing weekly menus, receiving and storing supplies, and adhering to nutrition guidelines, safety procedures, and infection-control standards. Training and experience in large-group cooking are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school education and be capable of cooking for large groups.
• Experience in cooking for large groups is a plus.
• Certified in food-preparation training preferred.
• Knowledge of state food-handling regulations and related safety standards.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and fire and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report food and supplies needed for the week’s menus.
• Assist in receiving, rotating, and storing products.
• Prepare menus and cook food per nutritional guidelines and residents’ diets.
• Support residents’ independence by providing adaptive eating equipment when needed.
• Coordinate food services for special community events when requested.
• Notify supervisor of malfunctioning kitchen equipment.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food per infection-control standards.
