Job summary

Elderwood at Waverly in New York is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist to support residents and families with compassionate, expert care. This full-time role emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and adherence to ICARE values.

You will conduct screenings and evaluations, develop therapy plans, coordinate audiology referrals, maintain documentation, and participate in care planning. A state license and CPR/BLS are required, with ASHA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• M.A. or M.S. degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist required.
• ASHA Certification (Clinical Competence) preferred.
• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Current CPR/BLS credential.
• Uphold ICARE values and work well with others.
• English reading/writing at intermediate level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Screen residents for communication issues and evaluate; write therapy plan recommendations.
• Coordinate audiometric screening and referrals for additional evaluations or treatments.
• Initiate and monitor speech-language therapy plan according to physician orders.
• Maintain evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Attend Resident Care Planning and Family/Resident Care Plan Review meetings.
• Maintain program records, budgets, and Medicare billing documentation.
