Description

Provides direct supervision of caregiving within the community, ensuring residents are treated with respect and dignity, recognizing individual needs, and encouraging independence. Fosters a homelike atmosphere throughout the community.

1. Supervises resident care staff, monitoring job performance, collaborating on performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and documenting corrective actions as needed.
2. Coordinates ongoing training and education for resident care staff.
3. Verifies associate hours on time cards and weekly reports, and completes nursing schedules to ensure proper coverage and adherence to budget, including arranging replacements and maintaining records of changes.
4. Observes residents’ health, addresses concerns within scope of practice, and reports significant changes or reactions to medications to the Health and Wellness Director.
5. Assists with medication management, including ordering, storing, and maintaining records, and may administer medications within scope of practice.
6. Monitors staff medication administration through audits, observes residents for reactions, and reports significant incidents.
7. Responds to emergency calls, communicates with families about residents’ needs and appointments, and ensures scheduling of ancillary medical services.
8. Participates in service plan reviews, maintains resident charts, and contributes to quality improvement activities.
9. Performs safety and infection control checks, participates in community functions, and shares on-call duties as required.
