As an Associate Patient Care Coordinator, we are often the first point of contact for our patients and their families. We value representing an important first impression. We are diligent in obtaining complete and accurate insurance and demographic information in a timely manner, enabling us to provide high-quality, compassionate healthcare services to all, regardless of their ability to pay.

Location: 350 W Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85013

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of registration requirements across various hospital areas.
  2. Ensure complete, accurate, and timely entry of demographic information into the ADT system during registration.
  3. Properly identify patients to prevent duplicate medical record numbers.
  4. Review assigned accounts for accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  5. Meet CMS billing requirements and document compliance within the hospital’s system.
  6. Collect and enter data accurately to ensure proper reimbursement.
  7. Review all information entered in ADT on pre-registered accounts.
  8. Verify all information with patients at registration, correcting errors as needed.
  9. Obtain signatures on required forms.
  10. Scan all necessary documents into the system.
  11. Provide patients with required printed materials.
  12. Follow downtime procedures accurately when the system is offline.
  13. Assess self-pay patients for eligibility and initiate processes when appropriate.
  14. Monitor and address tasks related to Mede/Analytics PAI tool.
  15. Verify insurance benefits using electronic systems or by contacting payers.
  16. Document insurance verification details thoroughly.
  17. Obtain referral, authorization, and pre-certification information and document accordingly.
  18. Verify medical necessity for outpatient services and notify patients about ABN requirements when applicable.
  19. Identify payer requirements for medical necessity.
  20. Verify patient liabilities, calculate payments, and request payment at registration.
  21. Identify and notify patients of any outstanding balances, and set up payment plans if needed.
  22. Document financial conversations and agreements accurately.
  23. Follow department policies when collecting payments and issuing receipts.
  24. Clarify and document the division of financial responsibility.
  25. Escalate accounts as necessary based on verification outcomes and patient ability to pay.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED or higher
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • 1+ years of experience with requesting and processing financial payments
  • Beginner proficiency with computers/data entry
  • Ability to work from 6:00pm – 4:30am, Friday – Monday

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hospital Patient Registration, physician offices, insurance companies, or revenue cycle roles
  • Understanding of insurance policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Basic mathematics skills for payment calculations

Soft Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
