Job summary

The Carolinas Alliance for Residential Excellence is seeking an Assistant Resident Care Coordinator to support the Resident Care Coordinator in a Virginia Beach facility. The ARCC will supervise care delivery, verify orders, and facilitate communication between staff and administration.

Experience in long-term care, certification as a Registered Medication Aide, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Must have met RCC, Supervisor-In-Charge and Registered Medication Aide requirements.
• Previous long-term care experience preferred.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and varying levels of activity.

Responsibilities

• Assume all written and delegated assignments of the Resident Care Coordinator.
• Coordinates care of resident across all departments within the facility making sure that all orders are processed and implemented.
• Assure all rights granted to residents in the Resident’s Bill of Rights are provided and that assistance is available to exercise these rights.
• Maintains current UAIs, ISPs, diet orders and standing orders in all resident records.
• Ensures that physician authorization is obtained when required.
• Serves as a liaison between physician practices and ensures that all orders intended are received.
• Serve as a reference for family members, responsible parties and visitors.
• Reviews medication administration records (MARs) and treatment records on a monthly basis to make sure they are accurate.
• Supervises staff to ensure that the ISPs are being followed.
• Assist with the care of residents, including prompting and performing the ADLs for which the residents need such assistance.
• Assure that all accidents/incidents are reported and recorded upon occurrence and that the appropriate parties are notified.
• Help with initial job interviews upon RCC’s or Administrator’s request.
• Follow orders prescribed by a physician and assure total care as ordered.
• Maintain and assure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Supervise staff that are on shift and make sure that coverage according to the state regulated staffing is met.
• Perform other duties as are required by the circumstances, or as instructed by the Administrator or Resident Care Coordinator.
