Job summary

Harmony is hiring a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide to provide quality care and assist with daily living activities in a Roanoke community.

Responsibilities include supporting residents, coordinating activities, and maintaining safety; requires high school diploma, state PC aide training, CPR/First Aid, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Flexible schedule includes weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work with all levels of personnel.
• Lift 50 lbs and push/carry 25 lbs; assist residents safely.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Report incidents concerning residents to appropriate individuals (e.g., RN/LPN, or ED).
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping duties in resident apartments and common areas as directed.
• Respond promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assist residents to and from dining and activities; check attendance and status.
• Check on residents and report illness or concerns to appropriate individuals.
• Communicate resident status and upcoming information to staff.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support.
• Attend and complete required in-services and staff meetings.
