Job summary

Avera Majestic Bluffs Assisted Living in Yankton, SD invites applications for a Resident Assistant. You will support residents with daily living, including meals, hygiene, and mobility, under the care plan and supervision of licensed staff.

You’ll administer medications as trained, document vitals and changes, help with activities, and keep rooms clean and orderly. High school diploma or GED is required; CNA or Med Aide certification within 120 days may be needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required to become Med Aide Certified
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Licensing Board in the state of practice within 120 Days or
• Medication Aide - Licensing Board in the state of practice within 120 Days
• Less than 1 year Experience in a people related business. Food service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assists the resident with all facets of daily living including meals, medications, bathing, housekeeping and laundry.
• Gathers information, including: Lunch count, report count to kitchen, logging maintenance requests, any meal substitutions, absent/present report & guest meals.
• Administers resident medications according to policy and procedure. If Med Aide trained.
• Reports any changes observed in residents’ condition or behavior and notifies Nurse.
• With accuracy, records and charts clinical data such as temperature, pulse, respiration.
• Answers call lights, anticipates resident needs, and completes frequent rounds.
• Prepares residents’ rooms and belongings for admission, transfer, and discharge.
