Job summary

Avera St. Luke's in Yankton, SD is seeking a Resident Assistant to provide compassionate personal care and support to residents. You will assist with meals, medications, bathing, and daily activities as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves medication administration if trained as a Med Aide, documentation of vital signs, and ensuring a clean, safe living environment. Shift is 5–9pm with every 3rd weekend/holiday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; CNA or Medication Aide licensing required within 120 days.
• Experience in a people-related field preferred (less than 1 year).
• Food service experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities including meals, medications, bathing, laundry, and housekeeping.
• Administer resident medications according to policy, if Med Aide trained.
• Record vital signs and changes in residents' condition, reporting to the nurse.
• Prepare rooms and belongings for admission, transfer, discharge.
• Maintain clean, sanitary environments in rooms, dining areas, and kitchens.
• Support activities and help residents participate in events and outings.
