Walnut Ridge Assisted Living in Kentwood, MI is seeking a Resident Care Assistant to provide hands-on support to residents per their care plans. The role focuses on daily living activities, dignity, independence, and quality of life while building meaningful relationships with residents and families.

Candidates should be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, read and speak English well, and be able to assist with mobility and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform resident-care and safety responsibilities.
• Ability to assist with wheelchairs, transfers, and resident mobility.
• Ability to walk for extended periods, bend frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
• Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification, or willingness to complete required training through Cardinal Senior Living.
• Previous senior living, assisted living, memory care, healthcare, or direct-care experience is preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, mobility, transfers, and other personal needs.
• Support resident independence, choice, dignity, and quality of life.
• Build positive relationships with residents and communicate respectfully with families, coworkers, and community leaders.
• Observe changes in resident needs or condition and communicate concerns promptly.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, comfortable home for our residents, including support with laundry, cleaning, meals, and other daily community needs.
• Follow established safety, care, infection-control, and regulatory requirements.
• Support teammates during busy periods and contribute to a reliable, positive working environment.

What We’re Looking For
