Job summary

Walnut Ridge Assisted Living & Memory Care in Kentwood, MI is hiring a Resident Care Assistant to provide hands-on resident support based on care plans and assist with daily living activities.

You will promote dignity and independence, observe changes, document accurately, and help maintain a clean, safe home. No prior senior living experience is required but appreciated.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform resident-care and safety responsibilities.
• Ability to assist with wheelchairs, transfers, and resident mobility.
• Ability to walk for extended periods, bend frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
• Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification, or willingness to complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, mobility, transfers, and other personal needs.
• Support resident independence, choice, dignity, and quality of life.
• Build positive relationships with residents and communicate respectfully with families, coworkers, and community leaders.
• Observe changes in resident needs or condition and communicate concerns promptly.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, comfortable home for residents, including laundry, cleaning, meals, and other daily tasks.
• Follow established safety, care, infection-control, and regulatory requirements.
• Support teammates during busy periods and contribute to a reliable, positive working environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform resident‑care and safety responsibilities.
• Ability to assist with wheelchairs, transfers, and resident mobility.
• Ability to walk for extended periods, bend frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
• Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification, or willingness to complete required training through Cardinal Senior Living.
• Previous senior living, assisted living, memory care, healthcare, or direct‑care experience is preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
