Job summary

Wallick Communities is seeking a Personal Care Assistant / Caregiver at The Ashford on Broad in Columbus. This 11pm-7am full-time role offers $16/hour plus shift differential and the opportunity to impact residents’ daily lives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPR certification, Nurse Aide certification a plus.
  • Effective communication with residents, families and staff.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
  • Experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional personal service and daily care to residents.
  • Assist with personal hygiene and grooming, bathing and toileting.
  • Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident and family needs.
  • Encourage resident involvement in activities.
  • Assist residents to/from activities, dining room and other community functions.
  • Lift, turn, and reposition residents as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide exceptional personal service and daily care to residents.
  • Provides physical resident care to include all aspects of personal hygiene and grooming to include bathing and toileting.
  • Answers call lights in a timely manner and respond accordingly to the resident’s and / or family needs.
  • Motivates and encourages resident involvement in the participation in activities.
  • Assists residents to and from activities, dining room, and other functions within the community.
  • Lifting, turning, and re-positioning residents as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Organized and self-motivated to do a great job for our residents
  • CPR Certified. Nurse Aide Certification is a plus but not required.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with co-workers, residents, family members and peers.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions
  • Previous experience working in an Assisted Living or Memory Care Community is a plus
