Job summary

Orchard Valley Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Smoking Aide/Resident Care Assistant to join our team. You will assist residents who need supervision while smoking and help maintain a homelike environment.

We value effective communication, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with residents who have cognitive or physical needs. High school diploma or GED is required, with 6–12 months of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Six months to one year experience in related duties preferred.
• Knowledge of aging residents preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work with individuals with cognitive, physical, or sensory disabilities preferred.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with energy and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents who need supervision while smoking.
• Help maintain a homelike environment for residents.
• Initiate and promote cleanliness of residents' environment.
• Assist with bed making, tidying rooms, passing water/ice, and closet clean outs.
• Ensure residents receive needed care and assistance.
