Job summary

Peregrine Senior Living in the greater Albany, NY area seeks an energetic Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant to support memory-impaired residents with daily activities while preserving dignity and independence.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, grooming, and dressing, documenting care, reporting changes to supervisors, and encouraging participation in community activities; CNA/HHA/PCA certifications preferred; HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CNA/HHA/PCA certification preferred or as required by law.
• One year caregiving experience preferred.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly required.

Responsibilities

• Assist memory-impaired residents with bathing, grooming, and dressing while maintaining dignity and independence.
• Ensure compliance with regulations regarding residents’ rights and maintain proper care records.
• Report changes in residents’ condition to the supervisor and document observations.
• Promote resident participation in community activities and social engagement.

Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour, based on experience.

We are currently seeking an energetic and dedicated Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant.

Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant Responsibilities

• Assisting our memory impaired residents to complete tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing while maintaining the residents’ dignity and promoting their independence
• Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights
• Maintain and document proper records of care
• Immediately report changes in resident’s condition to the supervisor: evidence of illness, changes in behavior, personal care needs not being met, medication issues, residents’ whereabouts unknown, etc.
• Promote and encourage residents to participate in community activities

Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant Education & Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant-CNA, Home Health Aide-HHA, or Personal Care Aide-PCA certification preferred or as required by law
• One year working in a care giving capacity preferred
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly required
