Job summary

Delta-Shores-Assisted-Living in Antioch, CA is seeking an Entry-level Resident Aid to assist residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, eating and toileting, and to support activity programs and basic documentation.

The position requires compassion, good English communication, ability to lift up to 35 pounds, flexibility to work evenings or weekends, and adherence to safety and privacy policies. Training and fingerprint clearance are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Ability to follow supervision and corrective feedback.
• Effective written and verbal English communication.
• First aid certification.
• Fingerprint clearance required.
• Willingness to work evenings or weekends.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and resident privacy.
• Interest and concern for persons with dementia.

Responsibilities

• Attends to environment/room cleanliness, ventilation, lighting and furniture arrangements.
• Assists residents with personal cleanliness, grooming, nourishment, rest, activity, and toileting in a manner conducive to the residents' comfort, safety, and dignity.
• Provides support and redirection to residents who have a Dementia diagnosis.
• Develops positive relationships with residents, families and frequent visitors.
• Promptly answers call lights and reports changes to supervisors.
