Job summary

Kahala Nui in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Resident Care Aide to support residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor well-being, and help create a safe, respectful living environment under licensed nursing supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, grooming, transfers, meals, and activity participation. CPR/AED and First Aid are required; TB clearance is expected to comply with Hawaii regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English well to communicate with residents and staff.
• Ability to lift and assist residents safely and meet ADL needs.
• Proof of TB clearance per state regulations.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Support mobility, transfers, ambulation, and positioning as needed.
• Assist with meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Observe, document, and report changes in residents' condition.
• Provide medication reminders as allowed by state policy and Kahala Nui.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.

Kahala Nui,considered Hawaii's premier Senior Living Community, is looking forResident Care Aides (RCA)to join our team!

RCAs provide compassionate, hands-on support to residents in our Assisted Living and Memory Support department, helping them maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. Working under the supervision of licensed nursing staff,RCAs Aide assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitors their well-being, and promotes a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Provide assistance with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and positioning.
• Support residents during meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or mental condition.
• Assist with medication reminders as permitted by state regulations and Kahala Nui policy.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
• Respond promptly to resident requests, call lights, and emergencies.
• Document care and services provided according to department requirements.
• Encourage resident participation in social, recreational, and wellness activities.
• Follow infection control, safety, and resident rights policies and procedures.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to communicate with residents, families, and associates.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely, including standing, bending and prolonged walking or standing.
• Ability to work agreed upon schedules including weekendsand holidays.
• Proof of annual tuberculosis clearance in accordance with state regulations.
• Proof of valid CPR AED and First Aid certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 100 hours of nurse's aide training or Hawaii CNA certification.
• Previous experience in caregiving, resident care, assisted living, healthcare, or a related field.
• Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or memory care residents.

Equivalent experience or education may be substituted at the hiring manager’s discretion for educational or work experience requirements.
