Job summary

Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester, MN is seeking a Resident Assistant for ALL shifts to provide compassionate physical and emotional care to residents and their families. No experience required.

You will support residents with daily living activities, transfers, and comfort, while benefiting from flexible schedules, paid training, and a strong benefits package including medical, dental & vision, 401K, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to prioritize, and organize work efficiently.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
• Must work as a team member with other personnel.
• Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
• Must be punctual, with good attendance record.
• Maintains confidentiality
• Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs as identified in the service plan.
• Assist with ambulation and transfers using a transfer belt and proper body mechanics.
• Assist in use of hearing aids and glasses for residents.
• Help each resident achieve highest level of independence.
• Provide residents with physical and emotional support.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement.
• Observe client and report changes in condition.
• Assist with activities and escort residents to scheduled events.
• Interact with residents to provide reassurance and engagement.
• Complete required documentation daily; service schedule, flow sheet, etc.
• Attend In-service training as assigned
