Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Cincinnati, OH, is hiring a Personal Care Aide to support residents with daily living activities, meals, and mobility. You will work with a nursing team, follow care plans, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, completion of an approved PCA program, and CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days. Weekend and holiday shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed an approved Personal Care Aide (PCA) program in accordance with state regulations.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work collaboratively with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of the nursing team and follow the instructions of the supervisor.
• Must be polite, respectful, and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and push or carry up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Must wear the designated uniform during working hours, including a name badge.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification within 60 days of hire.
• Must represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
• Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Reports incidents involving residents to the appropriate individuals (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, or ED).
• Assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Performs housekeeping duties in resident areas and common spaces.
• Responds promptly to resident calls for assistance and emergency alerts.
• Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Assists residents to and from dining rooms and scheduled activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident information.
• Communicates resident status and upcoming community information to staff.
• Provides emotional support during move-in transitions for new residents.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
