Job summary

The Aspenwood Company is seeking compassionate Resident Assistants for Spring Creek Village, a senior living community with Memory Care, in Spring, TX. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, meals, leisure programs, and documentation while promoting independence and safety for residents.

We offer a range of benefits and require weekend/holiday availability; shifts cover early, afternoon, and overnight hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living while encouraging independence.
• Serve meals and help with meal preparation and nutrition.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities to foster socialization.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, incidents, and changes in condition.
• Keep environment clean, safe, and orderly; perform housekeeping duties.
• Follow emergency procedures and respond to resident requests promptly.
• Know each resident’s location and report if not located.
• Collaborate with teammates to maintain a cooperative environment.
• Attend required in-service training sessions; participate in emergency response.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to company policies.

Location: Spring Creek Village, an Assisted Living senior community with Memory Care

Shifts Available:

• 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
• 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
• 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.

Must be available to work weekends and holidays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
