Job summary

Ebenezer is seeking a compassionate Resident Care Aide to join York Gardens' Assisted Living, Memory Care and Enhanced Care community in Edina, MN. The role provides personal care and health-related services to residents across shifts, focusing on wellbeing and safety.

You will support bathing, feeding, mobility, medication assistance under RN supervision, document observations, and help with social activities. The schedule rotates weeks with 6am-2:30pm shifts, in a warm, neighborly setting.

Qualifications

• Must have less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to use computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
• If under 18, must be on MN NA registry and the site must manage restrictions on passing medications or operating a mechanical lift.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares (bathing, dressing, toileting).
• Aid with meals and dining room service.
• Provide health-related services per care plan under RN direction (includes glucose monitoring).
• Record vitals and assist with monitoring.
• Assist with transfers using mechanical lift (1-2 people).
• Follow cleaning, laundry, and shift duties.
• Observe residents and report changes to staff.
• Respond to emergencies and safety events.
• Support social and recreational activities for residents.

Job Overview

York Gardens - We have 76 Assisted Living, Memory Care and Enhanced Care apartments in a warm, friendly, convenient community.

Week 1: Thur - 6am-2:30pm

Week 2: Sat & Sun - 6am-2:30pm

This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
