Job summary

Pillars of Hermantown is seeking a Resident Assistant / Caregiver to provide personal care and health-related services to residents. The role includes on-the-job training to pass medications and supports a schedule that includes an overnight shift with a $2/hour differential.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of experience
• Ability to use technology (computers, handheld devices, cell phones, fax machines)
• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including bathing, foot and fingernail care, shaving, dressing, and use of hearing aids or glasses
• Provides health-related services under RN direction (blood glucose monitoring, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration)
• Administers or assists with medications under RN supervision (including insulin)
• Performs home services and laundry per schedule; follows shift cleaning schedule
• Delivers meal trays and assists with meal service in dining room
• Facilitates resident social and recreational activities and reports changes in condition
• Responds to emergencies and acts as mandated reporter
• Observes residents and notifies appropriate staff of mood/health changes

Pillars of Hermantown

is looking for a Resident Assistant / Caregiver. This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing. Role will also be given full on the job training to pass medications.

This schedule includes;

• 48 hours per two week pay period ; Full Time
• Overnight shift; shift differential of +$2/hour
• 10:00pm-6:30am Shift
• Eligible for full benefits package (paid time off, medical, dental, matching retirement, more)

Responsibilities

Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:

• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift

Provides health-related services as directed:

• Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
