Job summary

Bethany Health & Rehabilitation Center in Canton, OH seeks a compassionate Resident Assistant to join our Assisted Living team. You will provide hands-on care following each resident’s service plan and support activities of daily living in a warm, home-like setting.

Your role helps residents maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life. You will work closely with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure personalized care, safety, and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to obtain required training/certification for a Resident Assistant (RA) role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized care and assistance based on each resident’s service plan.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Support residents during mealtimes, including meal setup and feeding assistance as needed.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation to ensure resident safety.
  • Observe residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff.
  • Engage residents in social, recreational, and daily activities to promote emotional and physical well‑being.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized living environment.
  • Support residents with respect, patience, and compassion at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure exceptional resident care.
