Job summary

Northern Lakes Senior Living is seeking a part-time Resident Assistant in Baxter, MN. The role provides personal care and health-related services to residents, with training to pass medications under RN direction.

The position includes 62 hours per two weeks, evening shifts, and every other weekend/holiday rotation. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks, monitoring health status, and supporting social activities within the community.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of care experience.
• Ability to use technology (computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines).
• If under 18, must be on the MN NA registry and cannot pass medications or operate a mechanical lift.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares (bathing, grooming, dressing).
• Support with meal service, feeding, and hydration.
• Monitor and report changes in residents' condition to staff.
• Assist with activities and social/recreational programs as assigned.
• Take and record basic health data under supervision of RN.

Our senior care community hosts Assisted and Memory Care services for a total of 68 units. Managed by Ebenezer, we are proud of our skilled, compassionate, and good-natured team of employees. Resident Assistant is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the senior age residents' physical and emotional well-being. Role is provided with training to pass medications as this is part of their regular duties.

This caregiver schedule includes;

• 62 hours per two weeks, part-time
• evening shift
• every other weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.

• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.
