Qualifications

• California Certified Activity Director or Certified Recreation Therapist is required.
• High School Diploma/GED or higher is required.
• Preferred: B.S. in Recreation Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the rehabilitation department to arrange activities that promote functional independence and with social services for psychosocial interventions.
• Develops a meaningful activity program for multiple care levels and high/low functioning residents with resident input.
• Develops schedules and a monthly activity calendar to meet individual and group needs, including residents who cannot leave their rooms, covering a wide range of activities.
• Evaluates performances of employees and helps them develop to their full potential.
• Handles complex complaints requiring knowledge of post-acute care policies and procedures.
• Interviews and assesses each resident within five days of admission and periodically thereafter, developing a care plan entry reflecting interests and interventions.

Education
