Job summary

Rosewood Rehab & Healthcare Center in Independence, MO is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering a quality activity program and to motivate residents to join group and individual activities. You will help coordinate engaging activities and sustain a vibrant, resident-centered program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Be available for varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Complete at least 10 hours in-service training yearly related to activities.
• Minimum age 18.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents to participate in activities to maximize involvement.
• Record attendance and participation in group and individual activities.
• Lead groups and individual activities.
• Maintain volunteer records.
• Coordinate arts and crafts for all residents.
• Review activity care plans and support activities aligned with the plan.
• Assist with seasonal and holiday decorating of the facility.
• Provide each resident with a current activity calendar.
• Assist in birthday recognition programs.
• Participate in community outings and events as requested.
• Escort residents to outside appointments, as needed.
• Stock and monitor resident store, as needed.
• Report resident incidents and accidents to the nurse immediately.
• Report injuries to the Office Manager or designee.
• Report suspected or observed resident abuse to Admin or designee.
