Job summary

Alameda Health System in Alameda, CA is seeking an Activities Coordinator to develop and implement activity therapy programs that meet the diverse resident needs. Collaborating with rehabilitation and social services, you will support Resident Council activities, supervise assistants, and manage supplies and budgets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• B.S. in Recreation Therapy preferred.
• California Certified Activity Director or Certified Recreation Therapist required.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive assessment for each resident and documents response to care plans.
• Utilizes music, pet, and aroma therapies to reduce anxiety, depression, aggression and pain.
• Supports residents through one-on-one, small group, and large group activities; maintains Resident Council communications.
• Supervises activity assistants and develops community volunteer efforts.
• Coordinates off-site activity trips and assists with transportation and orientation to facility.
• Collaborates with rehabilitation and social services to promote functional independence and address psychosocial concerns.
• Maintains equipment and purchases supplies within budget.
• Develops meaningful activity programs for multiple care levels and seeks resident input.
• Is a member of the IDT team.
• Interviews and assesses residents within five days of admission and periodically thereafter.
