Diversicare is seeking an Activities Coordinator to support a dynamic program across our care centers. You will assist in implementing an engaging activity plan for all residents, lead group activities, and provide meaningful one-to-one interactions to enhance well-being.

You will coordinate with the Activity Coordinator and care teams, document progress, and help arrange events such as movies, entertainment, and outings to create a warm, safe, and stimulating environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in long term care is required; preferred in recreational or activity settings.
• An interest in people; ability to communicate ideas clearly and instruct residents appropriately.
• Ability to direct and perform activities; respond to varied resident needs.
• Capable of motivating residents and promoting well-being through activities.
• Ability to interpret feelings and ideas from residents' perspectives.
• Must evaluate residents' progress and report to the Activities Coordinator.
• Imagination and creativity are necessary for engaging programs.

Responsabilités

• Assists the Activity Coordinator in implementing and executing an Activity Program for all residents.
• Leads group activities as assigned by the Activity Coordinator.
• Provides one-to-one activities for residents who cannot participate in groups.
• Helps plan activities through Resident’s Council and Activity Coordinator.
• Maintains attendance sheets on participants.
• Assists residents to and from activities.
• Communicates residents' status to the Activity Coordinator.
• May attend care plan meetings and document in progress notes.
• May arrange movies, live entertainment and group outings.
