Job summary

Birchwood is seeking an Activity Assistant to provide engaging activities for residents, aiming to promote psychosocial, spiritual and emotional well-being. The role includes coordinating the activity calendar, leading group and individual activities, and supporting meals and outings.

Candidate must be STNA or eligible, with a genuine desire to work with the elderly, staff and families. Flexible schedules and benefit eligibility are offered at this state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• Must be STNA or eligible to become one.
• Ability to communicate well with residents, families, and staff.
• Desire to work with elderly residents and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group and 1:1 activities.
• Coordinate activities with the activity calendar to meet resident needs.
• Conduct scheduled groups and individual activities.
• Assist with resident meals (serve/feed) and outings.
• Attend team meetings and contribute to surveys and feedback.
• Support with theme weeks and special events.
• Document attendance and participation for activities.
