Job summary

Aperion Care in DeKalb, IL seeks an Activities Assistant/Aide to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs in accordance with each resident’s assessment and care plan, under the direction of supervisors.

You will support the activities department, observe resident mood and involvement, maintain records, coordinate with other departments, prepare activity areas, follow care plans, purchase supplies, and help residents

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs & quality assurance for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement to evaluate progress.
• Develop and maintain good working rapport with other departments to ensure activities run smoothly.
• Prepare activity rooms/areas for scheduled programs and identify equipment needs.
• Follow the care plan in providing daily activities for residents.
