Job summary

Aperion Care DeKalb is seeking an Activity Assistant/Aide to support planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs for residents, in line with care plans and supervisor directions. Daily Pay available.

You will collaborate with other departments, prepare activity spaces, monitor participation and mood, document progress, and help residents with crafts and projects while maintaining dignity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating the activity programs for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement; document and report progress.
• Create and maintain a warm, calm atmosphere and good rapport with residents and staff.
• Prepare activity rooms/areas and recommend equipment and supplies.
• Follow care plans to provide daily activities and assist with crafts and projects.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and show dignity to all residents.
