Job summary

Villa Healthcare is seeking a Recreational Services Aide to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs that enrich residents’ physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being. The role supports residents under the supervision of the Recreational Services Director in a union-represented environment.

Responsibilities include leading activity groups, assisting with transitions to programs, and documenting resident participation while upholding safety standards and resident

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately and independently with patients, families, and other staff members.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required and lead groups in activities.

Responsibilities

• Implements activity programming as planned and assigned to meet the functional levels, needs and interests of each resident.
• Assists residents to and from activity programs and outings.
• Maintains good rapport with family members and encourages family support in programs.
• Provides input to the assessment and evaluation of the resident’s participation when requested.
• Communicates a resident’s concerns and responses to interventions to immediate supervisor.
• Supports a resident’s individual needs, preferences, customary routines and choices.
• All other duties, as assigned.
