Job summary

Rolling Hills Care Center in Selma, CA is seeking an activities aide to support the Activity Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing recreational services for residents. This role requires energy, a fun attitude, and a passion for enhancing daily life for seniors.

You will help plan monthly calendars, encourage participation in arts, outings, and religious activities, and assist with documentation and volunteer coordination in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Activities Certification, preferred.
• One-year experience working in long term care.
• One year of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and delivering activity/recreational programs to promote resident engagement and functioning.
• Encourages participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, outings, religious and educational activities.
• Assists in completing activity documentation in line with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submits supplies list and receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assists in organizing and supervising volunteers; recruits and trains volunteers.
• Assists with Resident Council Meetings when necessary.
• Helps plan community activities involving residents, staff and families.
• Completes monthly calendars of programs and posts them in the center.
• Other duties may be assigned at any time.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Responsible for supporting the efforts of the Activity Director in the assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing of activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the residents. We are looking for someone who has a great energy and likes to have fun with our residents!

QUALIFICATIONS

• One years of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years, preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the residents’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase or maintain functioning levels.
• Encourages resident participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc.
• Assists in completing activity documentation, when needed, if trained and in conjunction with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submits supplies list to Activity/Recreation Director and submits receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assists Activity/Recreation Director in the organization and supervision of the volunteer program including recruiting and training volunteers.
• Assists with Resident Council Meetings when necessary.
• Assists in planning community activities that jointly include the community, staff, families and residents.
• Assists in the completion of a monthly calendar of available activity/recreational programs and posts it in the center.
