Job summary

Genesis HealthCare is seeking an Activity Assistant to enrich the lives of patients and residents by planning and guiding engaging activities that address diverse needs. You will design monthly recreation opportunities, track attendance, and support care planning discussions.

Responsibilities include organizing programs, communicating effectively with team members, residents, and families, and ensuring safety and wellbeing during activities. This role is on-site in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills in English to support safety and wellbeing.
• Organizational skills and accurate record keeping are required.
• Ability to positively engage with personnel, residents, families, visitors and public.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and implement engagement activities that meet the physical, creative, cognitive, social and spiritual needs of patients and residents.
• Document attendance and participation in recreation programs.
• Attend care plan meetings as needed.
