Whitney Oaks Care Center is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in running a creative, interactive activities program for residents. The role requires following federal, state, local and corporate standards to design programs meeting residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.

Responsibilities include planning activities, coordinating calendars, arranging transportation, and assisting with care plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsabilités

• Participate in planning and conducting individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in communication between employees, residents, families, and the public.
• Develop monthly activity calendar and maintain attendance records.
• Assist in discharge planning and development of activity care plans.
• Arrange transportation for residents as needed.
• Develop monthly activity schedules including outings and in-room activities.
